New Gun Laws Take Effect March 27

Ohio House Bill 495 officially becomes law on March 27, 2013. The changes implemented are less restrictive than current legislation, which is a great benefit to Ohio’s gun owners, and more specifically Concealed Handgun License holders. Click (here) for the full text of HB 495.

What Gun Should I Buy for Concealed Carry?

A .45. Just kidding! Full disclosure: I do not carry a .45 nor I do intend to begin carrying a .45. A common answer that I give is: “Carry the biggest gun that you feel comfortable shooting and concealing!” That makes the answer about as clear as mud.

I laugh whenever I get the above question from my students. It’s not a silly question but I laugh because there are so many answers. It’s like asking someone what his or her favorite meal is. The answers vary widely. Perhaps it will be more beneficial to tell you the two guns that I carry and why.

This is a common question that the Fourtac team gets from new students. “How in the world do you conceal that?!”

So you have your newly minted Concealed Handgun License (CHL), you bought a holster for it and you decide that you want to try heading to Wal-Mart to pick up some groceries and see how this really works.
